Kansas Storage Tank Act to Reimburse for Replacement of Single Wall USTS

Effective July 1, 2015, the Kansas Storage Tank Act will provide up to $50,000 reimbursement to eligible owners of USTs to offset the cost of replacing single wall UST systems with double wall UST systems – that have secondary containment.  The reimbursement program ends June 1, 2020 and is retroactive to August 8, 2005 – the date the federal energy act was passed.  The Redevelopment Fund will pay out a maximum of $3 million per year or 60 sites per year.  If there are more applications than funding your request will be put on a list for when funds become available.

Currently we are aware of 20 sites that are eligible for the reimbursement.  The  but will be in the near future at www.kdheks.gov/tanks/trust_fund/ust_removal_fund.htm.

This legislation is a great example of our industry and a state agency working together to benefit the members of PMCA.
